“Hello everyone,
Every four years or so, there comes the need for a school to test themselves, to find the best of the best who walk the halls, to hold a competition that inspires colleagues and encompasses all areas of mental and physical skills, until finally one victor emerges as our champion to win prizes and glory.
I know right now some of you are jumping off your seats screaming, “OH! OHH! OHHHH!!!! Is it finally time for The Triwizard Tournament!!!”
Calm down, Potterheads.
No. There will be no wizards or wands needed because those aren’t real things. Instead, I speak of something any child of the 80’s or 90’s with access to Nickelodeon can tell you is a much more magical and prestigious competition… DOUBLE DARE!
Here’s the deal. I’ve decided to recreate Double Dare to help us celebrate Staff Appreciation Week, not only to bring us some entertainment and to give some of you the chance to run the famous obstacle course, but also as an excuse to find and hand out treats, awards, and prizes for everyone, because you all deserve it.
So, in our Double Dare game, when the contestants run through the obstacle course (and yes, there will be a real obstacle course!), they will win prizes not only for themselves, but for all members of our teachers and staff…”
There are mini-games throughout the week to help find your champions who will run the course, and those are super easy. The big focus of the week is in creating the obstacle course, but building this is 90% of the fun, and we’ll crowdsource it to make it a snap for you.
Creating the obstacle course is the heart of the week and fun for everyone involved: teachers, staff, students, even parents. Groups compete to create amazing obstacles using whatever they can find that week, but no budget is needed for this.
For the final game and run through, prizes and treats can be won for all teachers and staff as the obstacle course is completed (this is Teacher Appreciation Week after all). Use our Prize Guide to walk you through everything and make it easy. You can supplement with a budget if you have one, but if not, prizes can be school passes, skip next PD meeting, home baked goods, etc…

“We LOVED the end of year SNL skit and just the laughs everything provided during stressful times. Very easy and made sure we ended with a good review rather than simply leaving the building.” --Gary Lewis
